In loving memory of Pierre De Keyser, born in Saint-Gérard-de-Berry, Québec, who passed away peacefully at Princess Court on April 22, 2025 at the age of 82 with family by his side.

Pierre was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Marie-Anne De Keyser, brother Marcel De Keyser and sister Elaine Richard (nee De Keyser).

He leaved behind his loving spouse of 56 years, Cathy De Keyser, brothers Jean-Louis (Cecile) and Robert (Ursula) De Keyser, sisters Antoinette (Alden) Ticehurst and Susanne (Bruce) Buskell. Pierre also had numerous nieces and nephews along with their children.

Pierre was the fourth child of seven growing up in Malartic, Québec. He completed his grade 8 education in Malartic, QC, then completed 2 years of Adult Education from 1994-96. Pierre went to work at a young age, starting his career in a local bakery in his hometown. Then to the local mines where he was later transferred to other mines in other provinces. He had been trained as a welder and drill doctor, but mostly ended up repairing air jacklegs, stoppers, and tuggers. While working at a mine, out West, he met his future wife, Catherine, who was working as a waitress in Laronge, Saskatchewan. They married in 1968 and moved to Ignace, ON in the year 1972 where they settled.

Pierre enjoyed fishing and hunting, as well as picking berries and tapping maple trees to make his very own maple syrup. He thoroughly enjoyed gardening, grinding his own flour, and dehydrating vegetables and spices for personal use.

A Celebration of Life for Pierre will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 2 p.m. at the New Life Church, 630 Pine St. Ignace, ON with Pastor Tim Barker officiating.
