Patricia Hardy December 20, 1964 - February 4, 2023

Date of Funeral

February 11, 2023

Patricia’s life didn’t come to an end with her death. We will continue to honour her legacy by living life to the fullest with her spirit and conviction she had.

She passed away on Feb. 04, 2023 after lengthy health complications, and will be reunited with her parents Bob and Issabelle Hardy of Dryden, ON, who predeceased her. She was born a true Drydenite, in Dryden, Ont. On Dec 20, 1964. She is painfully missed by her family. Sister Robin (Reynold) and nephew Jason Frieling of Kenora, Ont; niece Mandi (Mike) Katie and Rowan Fawcett of Thunder Bay, Ont; niece Michelle (Ben) Christian and Adrian Mayne of Millbrook, Ont; sister Gwen (Bob) Carlson of Kenora, Ont; nephew Josh (Julia), Issebella, Audrey and Evelyn of Kenora, Ont.

She will be remembered with tenderness and affection by several cousins, dear friends, our fur babies, and all the lives she touched along her journey.

Patricia faced many challenges and adversities throughout her whole life which she persevered through with strength, kindness and love for all she knew. She was dealt an unfair hand from birth but played her cards with grace and courage no matter what came her way. Her pride was her family and community. She was fierce with her passions and indomitable in her opinions. Hockey saw her through some of her roughest times – Go Oilers – and her hockey playing nephew and great niece brought her such fun and excitement when she attended their games, as did music, a dedicated Conway Twitty fan. The simple pleasures in life brought her so much joy, teaching us along the way of what truly matters in life. She was a philanthropist and found happiness when she could help anyone in need. She supported fundraisers -Cops For Cancer, raffles, volunteered in any way she could, and everything in between in any way she could, if it meant it helped ease someone else’s burden even just a little. Hugs were her medicine, giving freely to her friends and family, as were her jokes, hoping to put a smile in someone’s day. She loved making her famous sugar cookies for everyone during Christmas with the end goal of seeing how much happiness it brought everyone who were lucky enough to receive them. Her chili was untouchable and 7-layer dinner, her favorite passed- down recipe, to make.

She’s been an inspiration to us. We were lucky to have her for the time she was here, but not long enough. She didn’t take much, but sure left a lot.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 with Louise Lomas officiating at the Dryden Community Funeral Home starting at 1 p.m.

Interment to follow in the Dryden Cemetery.

She was a gentle soul and I loved when she would phone me out of the blue and talk about Conway Twitty. She will be missed and her memory will remain with us forever. Rest in peace my dear cousin. May you soar with the angles and hug your mom and dad.

First met Pat at the old Pinewood School and I like to think we became friends there; Pat was always kind and engaging. I am happy that my last memory of Pat was being on the end of one of her hugs (she was a hugger!).

Condolences to all, rest easy Pat.
