It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Nicole Dayman on November 2, 2024. During her final journey, Nicole was surrounded by family and friends sharing many great memories and love.
Nicole was born and raised in Marathon Ontario, attended Steven’s Ave. Public School, Marathon High school and Confederation College in Thunder Bay and eventually ended up working in Ottawa where she met Jim. Once married they moved to Sault Ste. Marie and later home to Marathon for Jim’s work. Their final move was to Dryden where they made their home and raised their family for the past 36 years; last half having the joy of watching their grandchildren grow up.
Nana, as she’s known, has always been the special one and had great fun working on crafts, reading or playing games with them.
In Nicole’s early years in Dryden she worked at the Day Care Centre and later in retail at Ella Lynn’s and Alice’s.
Left to mourn is her mother Marie Leger, husband of 49 years Jim Dayman, sons Darcy and Gregory, sisters Irene Hicks (Vern), Claudette Spurway, Susanne Squitti (Norm), grandchildren Taylor Wiedenhoeft, Camryn Dayman (Jake), Quintin Dayman, McKenna Dayman, Ashtyn Dayman and Emersyn Dayman, nephews Shawn Telfer and Christopher James and finally Tamara Primmer, who as mother of the triplets always held a special place in Nicki’s heart. Nicole was predeceased by her father Aime Leger and recently her brother-in-law Kevin Spurway.
There are so many wonderful people who provided care and comfort to Nicole as she fought cancer with courage and determination. To her friends who offered encouragement and support, to Home Care, to the Doctors, Nurses and staff at Thunder Bay Regional Health Center and Cancer Care and to the Doctors, Nurses and staff at the Dryden Regional Health Center and Oncology Department, we are forever grateful for the care you gave to Nicole and the support you gave to our family.
Nicole loved life, but, she loved spending time with family most and it’s those memories we created together, that we will cherish above all else.
