Marjorie was born on February 18, 1938, in Timmins Ontario. Mommy worked in the gold mines and had a young family of four. They moved to Northwestern Ontario, following the opening and closing of the gold mines and spent the majority her life in Pickle Lake. She was very active in the community and loved all the outdoor activities that Pickle Lake had to offer. They ran a successful business – Al Martin and Sons. Marjorie was a very talented knitter, excellent typist and played piano. She liked to bake and was a great decorator and homemaker. She was a bit of a fashionista. Marjorie was never afraid to do what she wanted or to stand up for what was right! She and daddy spent lots of time travelling to Vegas, Rio de Janeiro and down to the US for We Country Music Festival and visited Newfoundland. They also travelled across the country in their fifth wheel camper. She was an active member in the Mormon church, which she loved.

Marjorie is fondly remembered for her story telling and her generosity and kindness. Mommy’s sadly missed and forever in our hearts. The family would like to thank the staff at Princess Court for taking great care of Marjorie in her final days.

A private ceremony will take place in Timmins at a later date.
