    Cecilia & Allan, and Rose,
Sending our condolences on the passing of your mom. I have many fond memories of the time spent with your mom when I was a teenager working at the Dryden Cleaners. I would watch her and learn from her while she sewed and repaired many clothing items brought into to be repaired. She was never deterred by any of the challenging repairs that were brought in. I was so amazed that she could make replacing a zipper look so easy especially in a pair of pants! It’s still not my favourite thing to do but I do think of her while I am doing one. She was always very kind and respectful and it was a pleasure to work, and learn from from her and to have known her. I know you are very proud of her as well and have many happy memories to reflect upon. Take care and condolences to all your families.

Mrs. Tavares, you were the most extraordinary seamstress. There wasn’t anything you couldn’t do. I still hear your voice, as clear as if it were today, shout, “Come on!”, when I knocked. There was a definite language barrier between us, but we got our message across. I remember your expressive eyes and how they would show humour when something amused you. I am glad I met you. You showed me that some people work harder than others in this life we’re given.❤️
