With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Leslie Wayne Catlin, age 71 at the Dryden Regional Health Center surrounded by people who loved him.
Les was definitely one of a kind. Anyone who knew Les, knew that he loved everyone with his entire heart. Les leaves a huge hole in this community. Les would say hello to everyone he knew and even those he didn’t. Les loved life. He enjoyed going for coffee on the hill at Tim Horton where he really loved visiting the retired coffee guys that were there. Les had a passion for the Ice Dogs, DES concerts and was an avid bowler with Dryden Special Olympics, recently competing in a tournament in Thunder Bay. Les was employed at one point by B & M Delivery service, he worked on the garbage truck, it was a job that Les was proud of. Les also worked for years cleaning the Dryden Police cars with his peers, another job he loved. Les loved to help around the house, often putting items away before it was used and taking out the garbage. Les had a great love of music, he could often be seen playing the air guitar and singing along. Les loved to gather items, his pockets were often filled with paperwork of some kind. Les was fortunate to travel to many places in his lifetime, many great adventures.
Les had many great friendships but Elwood was his boy, as he’d like to call him.
Les will be missed by his roommates Elwood and Bob as well as the staff from Community Living Dryden-Sioux and many other friends.
Les is survived by his brothers David in Thunder Bay and Robert of Geraldton.
Thank you to the EMS workers and OPP Officers that assisted to get Les to the hospital.
Les had a love of BIG RED TRUCKS, so thanks to Skene Transfer and Supply, Les’s last ride will be in a big red truck.
