A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 1-4 p.m. at the Eagle River Hall.
It’s with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved Father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and husband. Leo was born in St Léon Québec to Stanislas LeBel and Florestine Allaire and grew up in the Lac St-Jean region of Québec. Leo enjoyed having coffee with friends, working in the garage and watching tv in the evenings. He was a man of few words and excellent sense of humour. He fought lung cancer bravely, with his family by his side, until the very end.
Leo joined the Airforce right out of high school and later moved out west for work. He had a passion for cars and was no stranger to hard work. He became a truck driver and eventually settled in Machin, Ontario with his beloved wife Rhonda.
Leo was predeceased by his wife Rhonda, and parents Stanislas and Florestine. Also, by his sisters, Jeanne-d’Arc Lebel, Marie-Jeanne-Mance, Marie-Joseph, Florestine, Angélina, Berthe and Jean-Marie. In addition, he was predeceased by his brothers Gérard, Marcel, Charles, and François-Xavier LeBel.
He is survived and greatly missed by his sons Steven, Yannick, Sebastien, and Sabin (Melissa) stepson Ben, and daughter Starlynn. He is survived by his sister Bernadette, and sister’s in-laws Linda (David), Donna, and Debbie. He also leaves behind in mourning numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, hug your loved ones a little harder and cherish them forever.
