Leonard David Becker

May 7, 1946 – January 4, 2019

With broken hearts, the family of Leonard Becker announces the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather on Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Dryden Regional Health Centre surrounded by his loving family.

Leonard was born in Kitchener where he grew up on the family farm with his parents and three brothers.  Moving to Dryden in 1974, he worked in the wood room at the mill until he became ill in 1999. Leonard’s family and friends were very important to him and a lifetime of special moments were shared with his best friend, Leonard Hammer and his three rent a sons. Leonard’s greatest passion was fishing anywhere and everywhere.  He spent countless summers guiding at Route Lake Lodge and catching fish.  He thoroughly enjoyed quality time in the bush as well picking mushrooms and blueberries for his family and neighbours. Leonard was always willing to help anyone with any job.  He was a quiet and caring man who will be sadly missed by many.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 46 years, Susann. Daughters, Nancy Johnson (Axel) and Laurie Becker. Four grandchildren, Cassidy and Axel Johnson, Alexa and Jordyn Curci. Also left to remember Leonard, are his brother Ronald Becker and his sister in law Brenda (Robert)Becker along with nieces and nephews, brothers/sisters in-law and families.

Leonard was predeceased by his parents Clarence and Edna Becker, his brothers Cameron and Robert Becker and his sister-in-law Wendy Rose Jackson (Cameron).

As per Leonard’s wishes, there will be no funeral Service.  The family invite all of his friends and neighbours to our home on Morton Road to a celebration of his life on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Come and share your memories.
