It is with sad and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and peaceful passing of Jim.
Jim was born and raised in Dryden. He attended Zealand Shallow Lake school and later Dryden High School. He started out his working career for Reed Paper then moved on to heavy equipment, crane operator and truck driving businesses and later operating Johnny Macs training with his son Pat for a number of years before finally settling into retirement with Marlene at his side. They had 10 happy years together doing some travelling and spending time at camp and attending any musical gathering they could.
He is survived by his life partner and soulmate Marlene, his children Liska (Russ) Stafford, Patrick (Monique) McArthur and Lindsey (James) Dwojak, Grandkids Meghan (Micky) , Gabrielle (Jason), Nicholas, Taylor, Damon and Dylan, great grandkids Caleb, Levi, Sawyer, Quinn, Brynlee and Leighton, as well as his inherited kids Jerry, Kathleen, Patricia and Jamie Silen and their families Cheryl, Jessica, Andrew, Conner, Katie, Naomi, Blaine, Jennifer, Jyrah, Alissa and Breanne. He loved being part of their large family gatherings and his role as honorary dad and grampa. He also leaves behind his sister Janice and brother Morley (Lynn), niece Jill and nephew Jason. Last but not least his favorite fur friends Keelee and Sophie. He was predeceased by his parents John and Ethel McArthur and grandson Eli.
