With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Geralyn “Kim” Gushulak in the early hours of July 28, 2025, at the Dryden Regional Hospital. Kim was born on January 3, 1958, in Dryden, Ontario. Surrounded by the love of her family, she left this world as she lived—strong, courageous, and peaceful.
In her early years, Kim dedicated herself to being a stay-at-home mom, pouring love into raising her children and creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unwavering support. As her children grew older, Kim discovered a passion for working with the public in retail. Known for her kindness, patience, and creativity, she made every shopping experience feel personal, ensuring that every customer left with a smile.
Family was the heart of Kim’s world. She was a devoted wife to her husband Gary, a proud mother to her children Ashley, Tessa, and Scott, and a grandmother whose greatest joy was her grandchildren Alice, Claire, and Mykola. Being called “Nana” lit up her world, and her love for them was boundless.
Kim’s presence could brighten any room. She was always ready with a warm hug, words of wisdom, or a thoughtful spread of snacks—making everyone feel at home, well-fed, and deeply cared for. A loyal friend, Kim cherished her close circle of girlfriends as though they were her sisters.
Her infectious smile and laughter were gifts to all who knew her. Whether through a phone call or a spontaneous chat in a store, Kim made time for people. She had a rare ability to make everyone feel at ease, with a heart that was both compassionate and genuine. Her actions, big or small, were always a reflection of her love for others, making every moment brighter simply by being present.
Kim had a deep love for the outdoors, finding peace and joy at the family camp on Ghost Lake. Whether she was tending to her rock garden, planting flowers, or harvesting vegetables with her grandchildren, each moment spent there was a cherished memory.
Kim was preceded in death by parents Tom Robinson, George Hatch, and Betty Hatch. She is survived by her loving husband Gary; her children Ashley (David), Tessa (Riley), and Scott (Samantha); her cherished grandchildren Alice, Claire, and Mykola; her siblings Craig (Mary Lou), Shane (Heather), Brian (Bonnie), and Steven; and her nieces Lindsey, Nicki, Vicki, Maddison, and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 4th, 2025, at Dryden Legion, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Kim’s love was expressed in every action—quiet or grand. She had the rare gift of making each person she encountered feel truly seen, cared for, and loved. Her legacy will live on in every shared family story, every smile, every garden planted, and every memory honored. Kim will be deeply missed, never forgotten, and forever cherished.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dryden Lions Club, Box 293, STN MAIN, Dryden, ON P8N 2Y8 or to the Dryden Go-Getters, 84 St Charles St. Dryden, ON P8N 1L3

September 25, 2025 at 12:41 pmIt was an a real pleasure knowing Kim. She was a kind, loving and caring person to everyone she knew.
We are so grateful to her, for the love she showed our son Riley, her son-in-law. She was a second Mom to him and we loved and appreciated her for that, very much. She was a very special Nana to our grand daughters Alice & Claire. Tessa was very fortunate to have a Mom like her. She is missed, loved but most of all, never forgotten.💕
