It is with heavy hearts to announce the sudden passing of Garry Ames along with his wife Evelyn on August 23, 2025.
Garry was born on October 2, 1956 in Dryden, Ontario to Donald and Adena Ames. He received his education at Barclay School, then Dryden High where his love for the drama club started.
Garry was a animal lover and had many pets over the years. He sure loved his pooches.
He had many jobs, but working outdoors was his favourite. His last job was at the Safeway Gas Bar where he met many good friends. He was a talker, so meeting new people was never an issue.
Garry and Evelyn have been together for forty years were rarely ever apart. Now, they are together forever.
Garry is survived by his brothers Robert (Anita) and Gordon. His nephews and nieces, Donnie (Kathryn), Jennifer (Corey), Michelle (Kevin), Robbie (Tina), Carl, as well as two great nephew and nieces Miriah and Tanner.
He is predeceased by his parents Donald and Adena Ames, his sister Donna Parker (Robert).
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
We will cherish your memory now and forever. We miss and love you everyday…

September 1, 2025 at 11:52 amI was saddened to hear about Garry’s tragic passing. I remember so many happy times with him as a young boy. When I went to Dryden to visit my Dad, Uncle Don and Aunt Adena opened their home for me. We kid played Monopoly into the wee hours of the morning, road snow machines in the winter, and played at Sandy Beach in the summer. During a difficult time in my life, Uncle Don and his family were all very good to me. Today, I share with my dear cousins profound sadness at passing and for the void it will leave in their lives and hearts. Brian
