A beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend…
Ena Julie St. Anne McCannon, née St. Goddard, passed away peacefully at the Dryden Regional Health Centre on July 15, 2025. Ena was a woman of warmth, humor, and deep compassion, who found joy in the simple pleasures of life — the tug of a fishing line, the soil under her fingernails, and the laughter of her beloved nieces and nephews.
A devoted wife, Ena shared a rich and adventurous life with her loving husband, Dan. Together, they embraced the great outdoors — whether fishing side by side or tending to their garden, their bond was rooted in nature and shared passions. They were, in every sense, outdoorsy people who found peace and purpose.
Ena spent her career as a service worker, a role she truly cherished. Helping others brought her joy, and she approached each day with a sense of pride and kindness that touched everyone she met. Outside of work, Ena had a deep love for crafting. She delighted in learning new techniques and creating with her hands, always curious and always eager to try something new.
An animal lover through and through, Ena adored her two cats, who were more like family than pets. She was also a steadfast supporter of the Humane Society, believing strongly in giving voice and care to animals in need.
Above all, Ena loved her family — especially her nieces and nephews, whom she supported with unwavering affection. Her presence was a source of encouragement, comfort, and joy in their lives.
Survived by sisters Alice Moar, Sharon Sapay, Brenda Chartrand, and brother Archie St. Goddard. She will be dearly missed by her friend Phil Gussik, as well as many other nieces, nephews, family and friends. She is predeceased by her husband, Danny McCannon, as well as her parents Irene and Wilfred St. Goddard.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 1 p.m. at the Dryden Community Funeral Home with a luncheon to follow at the UNIFOR Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Second Chance Pet Network, Box 343, Dryden, ON P8N 2Z1

I worked with Ena for many years back in our Central days. Lots of good memories with her at work and even better memories outside of work!
