Edelmira (Mirian) del Carmen Salinas

In loving memory of Edelmira (Mirian) del Carmen Salinas who was born in Santiago, Chile on September 21, 1946. On December 29, 2018 Eldemira (Mirian) passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Edelmira is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Julio, son Enrique (Laura), daughter Jessica, son Paul, and her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Stephanie and Trevor.
Also surviving are siblings, Enrique, Mario (Elena), Enrique, Nelson, Sandra and Carolina as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all of Santiago, Chile. Predeceased by her father, mother and two brothers, Jose and Ernesto.
Edelmira (Mirian) was born in Santiago, Chile and moved to Canada with husband and two small children in August 1976. Two years later the Salinas’ welcomed their youngest son into their lives. She owned and operated Mirian’s Beauty Shop for 28 years out of her home salon and retired in 2002. During her years of retirement, she and her family enjoyed travelling, especially to South America and Mexico. Edelmira (Mirian) volunteered for causes such as: The Catholic Outreach Program and with the Mexican program Children of the Dump, which provides housing and education for underprivileged children. She was known for her kind and generous nature and was ready to help and volunteer at a moment’s notice.
She loved to spend time outdoors, walking, gardening and enjoying time with her family and their pets. She will be sadly missed by all of her family and her friends.
