Sometimes life takes you on a journey that no one can prepare for. Dianne was 66 years young, a cancer survivor, a warrior not ready or wanting to give up. A true fighter in all she carried out. It is going to be difficult not being able to call for those delicious baked goods, infamous meatballs & cabbage rolls, or on something as simple as how to cook a turkey – cooking is one of Dianne’s many passions and talents.

Our Family expresses tremendous thanks to Chief Esther Pitchenese, Harriot, Cindy and all who attended and assisted in Wabigoon Lake First Nation, as well as Kayla and Garry (our mom’s chauffeur) from Dryden Community Funeral Home. Thank you for providing support, community and love.

Our mother’s spirit was honoured with the lighting of a ceremonial fire, her wake and beautiful service earlier this month. Thank you for helping her spirit find the rest and peace she needs.

“Grandma. My heart is full of memories I will cherish forever. Though life goes on without you, I’ll bring you wherever I go. Losing you is unmeasurable but so is the love left behind. I will forever be your angel, but now you are mine, Your Wings were ready but my heart was not, I love you and I’ll see you amongst the stars” – Mercedes

Thank you all so much for your love and support during this difficult time.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 3 p.m. until time of service at the Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation Community Hall.

A Traditional Service will take place on Monday, April 15, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation Community Hall with Elder Robert Kelly officiating.
