Belinda White, age 83, peacefully passed away at Princess Court in Dryden, Ontario on Sunday December 31, 2023, with family at her side. She was born on February 12, 1940, in Flowers Cove, NL and spent her early years growing up in an orphanage in St. Anthony, NL alongside her five siblings and mother until moving to Sandy Cove, NL.
Belinda will be deeply missed by her husband of 64 years, James (Jimmy) White; loving children: Elsie (Boyd), Glen, Robert (Anna), Ron (Kari), and Celeste (James); adored grandchildren: Jody (Greg), Linsey (Janel), BJ (Angel), Jordan (Bethany), Jenny, Gina, Jeffery (Jessica) and Melanie (Cody), her treasured great-grandchildren: Jazmine, Jackson, Olivia, Easton, Griffey, Sophie, Lincoln, and Nixon; brother Gayden (Joyce), many nieces and nephews, extended family, and circle of friends. She is predeceased by her parents Walter and Sophie White; daughter, Marjorie; son-in law, Denis; daughter-in law, Cindy; Granddaughter, Jennifer; sisters: Ima (Jim) and Marjorie (Bud); and brothers: Wilga (Gertrude) and Gordon (Rose).
Belinda was a beloved wife, mother and cherished grand and great-grandmother. She touched the lives of many through her kindness, compassion, and unwavering love.
Belinda, alongside her husband Jimmy, owned and operated BJ Variety in Sandy Cove for numerous years. In 1997 they moved to Ignace to be closer to their kids. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, relishing in cooking, playing cards, doing puzzles, dancing and, singing. She also shared countless years as Jimmy’s companion during several hunting and fishing adventures.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the staff at Princess Court for their exceptional care, attention, and their efforts in ensuring both Belinda and the family felt at ease throughout her stay.
Fly away angel and rise to the sky, for your soul will live on and we’ll rejoice in the love you showed us all to live by.

In Lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests any donations be made to a fund supporting the education of her great-grandchildren. Family meant everything to her, and she spared no effort in caring for and supporting them whenever she could.
