Audrey Huckell who loved to be called granny, departed her loving family on April 5, 2022 with her children by her side at the Dryden Regional Health Center.
Audrey was born in Central Patricia on October 19, 1944 to Margaret and John. Audrey was mother to Kelly and Terry, she raised her children with love and devotion in Dinorwic with her husband Rick. She is survived by her daughter Kelly (Craig) son Terry (Erin) and her granddaughters, Jacey, Anesa, Kylee, Megan and Aimee. Brother Lloyd (Carol) and Colin (Doris) sister in law Lynn and brother in Law Jim and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
Audrey is pre-deceased by the love her life Ricky (Papa Ricky), sister in law Joan, brother in law Barry, her parents Margaret and John, William and Marjorie Huckell and great nephew Aaron Brown.
Rick and Audrey lived in Dinorwic the majority of their life and together ran William Huckell and son contracting. They raised Kelly and Terry there instilling their work ethic and love for the outdoors. Audrey’s family was her life, her happiest times were spending time with her granddaughters. Everyone knew Good Friday was hot cross bun day, Audrey and her granddaughters would make and deliver hot cross buns to friends and family.
Granny loved all, she was known for her sense of humor and outgoing personality. She always had a smile and a hug for who would take one. She loved to dress up for any occasion whether it was a retired hooters girl or a witch sitting in her front lawn in Dinorwic waiting for her granddaughters to visit her.
Though Audrey’s mobility was failing for years, few people knew the extent to which she struggled but her joy for life and her indomitable spirit kept her pushing through the pain.

My deepest sympathy in the loss of your Mom. I have so many wonderful memories of her kind, gentle nature and beautiful smile. Both recently and as a younger person in Pickle Lake. She always greeted you with enthusiasm and wanted to know what was going on in ones life. I so hope all the wonderful memories you have of her will soon ease your sorrow. She will be missed by many.
Wishing your family much peace. Deanna xo
