Allan Airth June 6, 1958 - February 4, 2022

Allan Airth, age 63, of Ignace, Ontario passed away peacefully at home on February 4, 2022 in the arms of his wife Pam after a two-year struggle with ALS.

He is survived by his wife Pam, children Scott Airth (Dawn), Derek Airth (Daisy) and Justin Airth (Janine).

Brother of Cam (Leah), Lori (John) and Lynn (Tanja), grandfather of Alex, Hailey, Damon, Brielle, Beaux, Emerson and Brynlee. Son of the late Roy and Margaret Airth and brother Barry Leach. Brother-in-law of Vicki Laudadio (Rollie), Michelle Buskard (Brent) and Steve Carlson (Pheaby).

Al was a dedicated employee in the forest industry for 40 plus years. He enjoyed watching football, playing cards, fishing, blueberry picking, camping and socializing with friends around the campfire at Sandbar Lake and Rousseau’s Landing. He was an integral volunteer with Northern Critters In Need due to his love of dogs and cats.  He will be missed by all of his pets especially Balto and Valour. Al was an easy-going man, always willing to help anyone who asked and could be serious or humorous depending on the occasion. Due to his illness, he could no longer be President of the Royal Canadian Legion (Ignace Branch) as he had been for many years.

Appreciation to his closest friends, and to the many other friends who could always be relied on to help with whatever was needed. Special thanks to his medical care givers for their care and compassion during the course of ALS.

At Al’s request, cremation has taken place by Dryden Community Funeral Home and no service will be held. Instead, he wanted people to remember him in their own way.
