Michael “Baby Mike” Verbonac February 18, 1984 - October 6, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Verbonac on October 6, 2025, at the age of 41.

He is predeceased by his grandparents Joseph and Eva Zoccole, Michael Verbonac and Martha Danielson-Verbonac, his father Donald Verbonac, and his beloved sister Kimberley Meawasige.

Michael is survived by his loving mother Wendy Zoccole (Tim), his sister Crystal Verbonac (Sean), and his cherished nephew and nieces: Matthew, Jaydon, and Charlie Meawasige, and Willow Verbonac. He will also be dearly missed by many cousins, extended family, and countless friends.

Mikey, as he was known, had a knack for mechanics—if it had a motor, he could most likely fix it. He loved tinkering away. He also found joy in the simple things like blueberry picking, fishing, and especially women who always brought a little sparkle to his eye.

Born on February 18, 1984, Michael lived a life that was uniquely his own—filled with grit, heart, and an unwavering desire to help others. Though he faced significant challenges later in life with alcohol and substance abuse, Mikey found purpose and pride in helping his community. One of his proudest accomplishments was working to collect used needles across Dryden and safely disposing of them, often being paid per bag through the city as well as providing clean ones for people instead. He was a helper at heart and for Mikey, it was never about the money. He did it because he truly cared—especially for the kids in the area. He wanted the streets to be safer and cleaner, and he threw himself into this work with compassion and sincerity. He genuinely loved it, and it showed. His efforts made a real difference.

The family wishes to extend a deep gratitude to the local Salvation Army for their kindness, support, devotion, and dignity shown towards Mikey throughout his journey. Your care did not go unnoticed.

Rest easy, Mikey. You mattered—and your kindness will never be forgotten.
