Our dear brother, John Lockie Waugh, passed away quietly this week. May all who loved him hold on to the good memories—as we surely will, deep in our hearts.
John leaves behind three loving sisters and many nephews, all of whom are deeply saddened by his passing. He was a proud and devoted uncle, always quick with a story or a trick, and never shy about sharing how proud he was of his family. He now joins our beloved Mom, Dad, and sister Sandra in eternal rest.
A bush worker and buncher operator for Levesque Logging, John found peace and purpose in the woods. An avid hunter and fisherman, he lived for the outdoors and the quiet moments that came with it. His love for nature was as strong as his love for the people around him.
John was a gentle soul with a mischievous spirit—always ready with a joke or prank to catch you off guard. His laughter and light-heartedness left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He cherished his time at the Trapper’s Suppers at the Agricultural Center, where good food and good company came together in true northern fashion.
He leaves behind his three sisters and many nephews who are sad to see him go, as well as close friends Randy Turgeon and Mark Payas (furry friends Blinky and Rugar).
At John’s request, there will be no funeral service, true to his shy and gentle nature. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, where we will gather to share stories, laughter, and love in his memory.
Until we meet again, John—bye for now… see you in heaven.
