It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and uncle Reginald Frederick Russell on August 15, 2025, at the Dryden Regional Health Centre, Dryden, ON.
Reg was born on August 13, 1945 in Winnipeg, MB. He attended the Springfield Collegiate Institute in Manitoba where he met his wife, Patricia. He worked for Standard Dairy and then Weston’s Bakery which offered the opportunity to move to Dryden. A dedicated salesman, he was employed by Weston’s Bakery for 53 years, finally retiring in 2022 at the age of 77.
Reg was a devoted member of the Lions Club, serving 47 years. He enjoyed playing baseball, curling, golfing, snowmachining, and spending countless hours with family and friends at the cottage.
He was predeceased by his parents Frederick William and Daisy (Nellie) Russell, and foster brother Emil Georgette. Reg will be lovingly remembered by his wife Patricia, son Curtis (Lori), daughter Shelley (Rodger) Daren, grandchildren Steven and Ainsley, brother Bill (Val), as well as nieces and nephews.
Reg’s kind heart and sense of humour will be remembered by his family and many friends.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, August 22, 2025 at the St. Luke’s Anglican Church at 11 a.m. with Reverend Micheal Bergman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dryden Lions Club, Dryden Lions Club, Box 293, STN MAIN, Dryden, ON P8N 2Y8 or to the St. Luke’s Anglican Church, St. Luke’s Anglican Church, 50 Van Horne Ave. Dryden, ON P8N 2A9
