In loving memory of Craig Allan Pietila who passed away June 6, 2025 in Orillia Ontario.
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Craig, a loving father, son, brother, uncle, grandpa, nephew and friend. He was the beloved son of Norma Pietila and the late Ralph Pietila, cherished brother of Sheldon (JJ). He leaves behind his three children, Kaitlin (Wade), Kaeley (Max) and Madison, as well as two grandchildren Rylen and Kaysen, who he loved dearly. He is survived by several aunts and uncles as well as many, many, many cousins. He is predeceased by both sets of grandparents as well as several aunts and uncles.
Craig was born June 20 1971 in Atikokan Ontario. He spent his youngest years in Fort Frances Ontario then growing up in Ignace Ontario eventually moving to Orillia to begin his career at Casino Rama. He spent nearly 30 years working at Casino Rama since it opened. Outside of work he lived for the outdoors – fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, four wheeling, and boating brought him true joy. He always had classic rock blasting and never missed an opportunity to dance with his girls.
Some of the best memories they will hold close are nights at the Barrie Speedway, summer days swimming in Washago and countless hours spent at his best friends Chris and Mel. Craig so enjoyed coming home to Ignace to hang out with his best childhood friends Kevin Cloutier Murray Graver and Rob Bond. Also to mourn is his dear friend Rick Pearce. He will be missed by countless friends and acquaintances at Casino Rama.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his humour, sarcasm, kindness and love for the simple things in life.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Chris and Mel Eade, 2332 Cambrian Rd. Severn, ON for family and friends.
We never got to say goodbye the way we wanted to. Maybe no one ever does. Maybe all we get is “We Love You” and hope that you knew how much we meant it. Say Hi to your Dad and catch lots of fish with him. LOVE YOU
