Adriana Aguiar September 3, 1952 - August 5, 2024

Date of Funeral

August 9, 2024

Adriana Aguiar (nee Cabral) passed away peacefully at the Dryden Regional Health Centre on Monday August 5th surrounded by her family at the age of 71 after many years of struggling with health issues.

Adriana was born in the city of Ponta Delgada on the biggest Portuguese Azores Island, São Miguel.

Adriana is predeceased by her father and mother Manuel and Conceição, and her loving husband John Aguiar.

She is survived by her daughter Victoria, husband Tyler and their children Paiton and Gage, who are all going to miss her like crazy! She will also be greatly missed by many family members especially her brothers Carlos Cabral, Joe (Maria) Cabral, Luis (Heather) Cabral, and her sisters Isabel Vertentes and Fatima Cabral, nieces, nephews, cousins, brother and sister in laws, great nieces and nephews, friends, and many more.

She moved to Canada young to marry the love of her life John and we feel peace and comfort in knowing they are together again.

Although she loved going back to Portugal for trips and visits, she always said that Canada was her true home. They lived in Dryden all their lives and loved the outdoors spending lots of time with family and friends fishing, camping and snowmachining.

Adriana was the sweetest, kindest, loving, most beautiful soul. Anybody who met her felt truly blessed to have known her. She was always thinking and worried about others before herself. She loved her family and friends so much and loved being with them. She was also very well known for her cooking and baking, especially her famous cheesecake! She loved watching The Young and the Restless (which is actually where she got Victoria’s name from), the Food Network and never missed The Price is Right. She helped her daughter raise her children and spent so much time with them. She always called them “her babies”. She was a very faithful woman and it showed in her last few days of life as all she wanted to do was “go home to God”. Now she may spread her beautiful wings and sore.

We want to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff in each department who cared for Adriana at the Dryden Regional Health Centre over the years.

A Traditional Funeral Service will take place on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 1 p.m. at the Dryden Community Funeral Home with Father Alan Campeau officiating. Interment to follow at the Dryden Cemetery.

My dear friend Adriana, I will always miss you. We were close friends for many years and I was privileged to be your pastor for over 13 years, we love you at The Voice of Truth Apostolic Sanctuary. We worshipped and loved our God together and we shared His word and His presence in so many of our services. We spent many hours studying God‘s word, singing and saying prayers together for our families and friends. We shared testimonies, miracles and wonders together and with many of our friends in our fellowship and with other believes in our community in Dryden. There are no words to describe the bond of love and joy that we had for one another. The meals that we share the picnics, the outings, the travelling and the coffees at Tim Hortons and the meals we eat together at the PI after our Sunday morning church services. We enjoyed celebrating birthdays together and with others from food and cakes you made during so many special occasions. I have many wonderful and beautiful memories of our friendship throughout the years. We have watched our children grow to be adults and our grandchildren to be born and to be raised and we shared many stories and many joys. I treasure every moment that I spend with you it was wonderful and beautiful in so many ways. You have left us but the memories will linger with us for many years to come, thank you for your wonderful friendship.
To each one of your family members my prayers and my deepest convalescence.
