Debbie (Miles) Landry December 24, 1971 - October 10, 2023

Date of Funeral

July 20, 2024

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Debbie [Miles] Landry at home on October 10, 2023.

She was born December 24, 1971 in Dryden, Ontario to Connie Ewen and Tim Miles. She worked at the family business, the Fin and Feather Resort, until she graduated high school. She then followed her sister Lori and Scott to Thunder Bay, ON there she fulfilled her dream of becoming a hairstylist.

She then moved back to Dryden, and with the help of Lori, she started and ran her own salon for a brief time. When Lori bought the H&R Block franchise, Debbie worked for her. When Lori passed away Debbie helped keep the franchise going and moved in to help Scott out and allow him to remain in his home.

She was looking forward to moving on in life after the sale of the franchise with her Fiancé Kerry, but life had other plans. Her health took a turn, and she spent the next 9 months in and out of the hospital. We thank the nurses and doctors from Dryden and Thunder Bay for their excellent care of Debbie.

Before she joined Scott and Lori in their “careers” with Kin Canada, Debbie ran as a Kin Karnival Princess, and came out the Queen! Her Kin career started slow, and then she began to hit her stride. She served for 10 years at the National level on the awards committee, at district level, she was an invaluable part of the awards garnered by District Two. Among her many awards, she was awarded Outstanding Deputy Governor. At District Convention in 2022 she had the best day of her Kin career joining Scott and Lori and receiving Kin’s highest honour, her Life Membership. It was the result of one of Lori’s last acts as Governor and a Vermilion Bay Kinette.

She was proud of her kids, Dylan Kruger, Miranda Kruger, stepson Sean [Michelle DuPuis] Werestiuk, and Baba to Ashton. She was also proud of her nieces and nephews in all of the things they did, Sequoia and Thomas Skene, Connor, Levis, and Emma McEwan, and Jessica and Damian Geiger.

Debbie is predeceased by her sister Lori, mother Connie Ewen, grandparents Evelyn and Stanley Miles, and Bill and Edna Ewen, and nephew Damien Geiger.

She will be forever missed by Fiancé Kerry Belair [Brooklyn], children Dylan Kruger, Miranda Kruger, and Sean [Michelle Dupuis] Werestiuk, father Tim [Shirley] Miles, brother and sister, Roly [Lidia] Miles, and Dana Skene, brother in-laws Scott McEwan, and Keith [Liza] McEwan, and father and mother in law Ivan and Judy McEwan.

Please sign your Donors card however it is done in your area.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 148 Pine St. Vermilion Bay, ON on July 20th, 2024 at 1 p.m.
