Mella Gosnell September 27, 1976 - March 26, 2021

Heaven has a new angel. The Gosnell Family are grieved to announce the unexpected passing of Mella E.P. Gosnell, 45, of Dryden, Ontario. Mella passed on March 26, 2021 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. She left us very suddenly but peacefully with her family by her side.

Mella was born September 27, 1976 to her parents Phillip and Debora Gosnell who will always cherish their beautiful 1st child.

She is survived by her two children; (Son) Joshua Petit (Katherine) of Winnipeg, MB. and (daughter) Kaylin Gosnell (Jarod) of Dryden ON and one step daughter Franki Garneau (granddaughter Kamila) of Thunder Bay ON, who were left with love and pride. Mella was also very happy whenever she mentioned her new grandson Graysen Kearney of Thunder Bay, Ontario. She loved to show off his pictures.

Mella is predeceased her step son Travis Garneau and her beloved first cousin Rhonda Zaparniuk who fought her battle only just 2 short years ago of similar circumstances.

Mella is also for ever loved by her grandmother Phyllis Gosnell, sister Dory Peterson (Curtis) Fort Frances ON, brother Phillip C. Gosnell (Burton) Dryden ON, nephew Kyle Peterson, nieces Samara Peterson and Leona Peterson Fort Frances ON and numerous Aunties, Uncles and cousins.

We also wish to thank all of those who have reached out to the family in our time of need either online or at the memorial for Mella at Earl’s court. It means the world to us!

A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, August 13, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Dryden Cemetery with Pastor Velma Henderson officiating.

My heart is with your family who are losing you far too soon.
    Mel you will be missed.
Your greeting always, of “Hi madame!” no matter how long it had been or where we met again, was the highlight of my day. You always had a smile for me, and I always remembered you as my student. That smile and your quick energy will always be in my memory. I know you will always be a ready presence for anyone who got to know you. Until we meet again Mel, I know you will be watching over us.
