Eileen Hauta

It is with sad hearts that the family announces the passing of “Nanny” in her 99th year.

Eileen was born June 17, 1918 in Central Butte, Saskatchewan to George and Mary Marie Hicks. Eileen moved with her family to Dinorwic, Ontario where she met and married Waino Hauta June 22, 1935. On September 1, 1943, they moved with their two boys to Minnitaki, Ontario and their daughter was born two months later.

She will be greatly missed by her; children Waino Jr. (Pinkie), Albert (Tina) and Noreen (Don), seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 16 great great-grandchildren. Eileen was predeceased by her husband Waino, mother Mary Marie, father George, brother bud, sister Sis, grandson Douglas, daughter-in-law Dianne and great-granddaughter Taylor-Leigh. Her goal was to reach 100, “She almost made it!”

Eileen enjoyed Sunday card games, bingo, camping, fishing and gardening.

As per Eileen’s wishes, there will be no visitation.

A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, January 24th, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Dryden Community Funeral Home’s chapel with Velma Henderson officiating.
